12/7/2023 0 Comments Bmw crossover 2020![]() The V8 churns out 523-horsepower and 553 pound-feet of torque, enough to push the X6 from 0 to 60 mph in 4.1-seconds, more than enough to shame sports cars and fast sedans. I spent the most time in the third model on the road and racetrack a more potent X6 M50i that – at $85,650 – is equipped with a twin-turbocharged V8 lifted from the new 8-Series M850i. The RWD model goes from 0 to 60 mph in 5.2-seconds while the AWD does it fractionally slower at 5.3-seconds. Next is the $66,600 xDrive40i, powered by the same turbocharged inline-six but with all-wheel-drive. The base model is the $64,300 rear-wheel-drive sDrive40i powered by a turbocharged 2.0-liter inline-six producing 335-horsepower and 330 pound-feet of torque. ![]() There are three versions of the 2020 BMW X6. Equally humongous 20-inch alloys are standard and fill the wheel arches nicely, lending an aggressive stance, but larger 21-inch or 22-inch alloys are optional if you want to get sportier still. It also grew a larger pair of kidney grilles, which fits the personality of the X6. It still has a rather large and awkward rear end, but the lower and curvier roof has given the back treatment more suitable proportions. For all intent and purposes – and with the acknowledgement that, yes, design is subjective – this third-generation X6 is the better-looking of the bunch. Resting on its laurels won't win BMW any sales. The X6 once had the market to itself, but it now faces an onslaught of competitors in the form of Porsche's Cayenne Coupe and Mercedes-Benz's GLE Coupe. ![]() Also, despite being marginally longer, it also happens to sit lower to the ground by 0.7 inches, giving it a lower center of gravity and a speedier profile, which I really like. It also has a longer wheelbase for added legroom, which is an attempt to compensate for the diminished rear headroom, and it works. The dimensional changes aren't all downward, either: the 2020 X6 is an inch longer and more than half an inch wider than the previous model. Even if it did feel a little snug in the back, I'm fine with it: I suspect all X6 buyers will be fully aware that their sporty SUV eschews practicality in favor of athleticism. 12/7/2023 0 Comments Doctor who flux cast 2021![]() ![]() We first saw a Dalek levitate up some stairs unassisted for sure in 1988’s Remembrance of the Daleks, although a gravitational disk had been used by the deadly pepperpots to fly in 1973’s Planet of the Daleks – and you could argue we saw one levitate out of the sand of the desert planet Aridius as early as 1965 in The Chase. Jodie Whittaker was wearing her reversed coat costume in the scenes where she was placed into the Fugitive Doctor’s memories.ĬGI Daleks floating through a forest rather avoids the historical problem of getting the props to work on rough terrain. The final words from the Doctor were “The Angel has the Tardis” – an obvious nod to “The Angels have the phone box” from Blink, a line good enough to go on a range of T-shirts. Photograph: James Pardon/BBC Studios Deeper into the vortex Yaz (Mandip Gill) sums up the conflict between her and the Doctor. The fact that it was a multi-species team on the mission also poses a question: is the Division even really a Time Lord organisation? Or something else that sometimes employs Time Lords?īarbara Flynn also made her first appearance as Awsok, the mysterious woman who seemed to give the impression she was running the universe – theories? Lupari must live for a very long time as a species if Karnavista was knocking about with the Doctor in the Division. I am not sure my kids have understood a single sentence he has uttered. ![]() He speaks as if he has leaked from an episode written by Mark Gatiss – a constant jumble of words showing off the writer’s 19th-century vocabulary. There didn’t seem any logic to him being in the Temple of Atropos last week in his one scene this week, he had a ray gun in the 1820s. Steve Oram’s Joseph Williamson again made a brief, but perplexing, appearance. Some thought the Mouri might turn out to be a Weeping Angels origin story – quantum-locked, linked to time? There had also been speculation Passenger might turn out to be housing Dan’s would-be girlfriend, Di (Nadia Albina), although older familiar faces (Sacha Dhawan? Timothy Dalton?) were bandied about. I enjoyed your theories below the line last week very much. Sam Spruell’s Swarm had positively swaggered his way through the opening two chapters – he is easily one of the best “big bads” we have had in recent years on Doctor Who, absolutely relishing being evil for evil’s sake. Some younger viewers will surely be a little disturbed at the idea Angels can get at you from a video game, especially if you have to smash up your precious console to save yourself. I found the idea of a hidden Angel creeping up on Yaz via the mirrors on her police patrol car a nice twist on their usual approach. Weeping Angels were also used sparingly in this episode – but to much greater effect. They might have been in the trailer, but that barely counted as a cameo by the Cybermen. We didn’t get much more backstory to Dan (John Bishop), although we will presumably find out next week how he copes with loss. Relations between Yaz (Mandip Gill) and the Doctor (Jodie Whittaker) were more fraught than ever – with some sharp words between them as the Doctor continued on what seems to be a one-woman mission to uncover her past. Thaddea Graham’s Bel made her first appearance in chapter three. 12/7/2023 0 Comments Dyna blaster character![]() In the Super Bomberman series, the two characters would regularly join forces to handle bigger threats, most notably the evil alien Professor Bagura and the Five Dastardly Bombers, the Hige Hige Bandits (led by Mujoe and Dr. In earlier appearances, the second Bomberman model (known as Black Bomberman) was usually the rival or the main antagonist. In the Bomberman for the TurboGrafx-16, Bomberman is used as a prototype for further Bomberman robots by Dr. This storyline is not present in some versions, such as Bomberman Party Edition, and this setting was largely abandoned but used for connections with Hudson's Lode Runner games and Bomberman: Act Zero. ![]() ![]() When he reaches the surface, he transforms into an organic human being and becomes known as the " Runner". The 1985 game for Famicom / Nintendo Entertainment System (and Atomic Punk for Game Boy) begins with "Bomberman" (the eponymous character of the game) who worked day in and day out making bombs in an underground compound, but he dreamed of liberty, so he plotted his escape. The player can pick up various power-ups, giving them benefits such as larger explosions or the ability to place more bombs down at a time. Gameplay involves strategically placing down bombs, which explode in multiple directions after a certain amount of time, in order to destroy obstacles and kill enemies and other players. The break-even formula in sales dollars is calculated by multiplying the price of each unit by the answer from our first equation. ![]() Now we can take that concept and translate it into sales dollars. This computes the total number of units that must be sold in order for the company to generate enough revenues to cover all of its expenses. Since the price per unit minus the variable costs of product is the definition of the contribution margin per unit, you can simply rephrase the equation by dividing the fixed costs by the contribution margin. The break-even point formula is calculated by dividing the total fixed costs of production by the price per unit less the variable costs to produce the product. Let’s take a look at a few of them as well as an example of how to calculate break-even point. There are many different ways to use this concept. The purpose of the break-even analysis formula is to calculate the amount of sales that equates revenues to expenses and the amount of excess revenues, also known as profits, after the fixed and variable costs are met. Since the expenses are greater than the revenues, these products great a loss-not a profit. Many products cost more to make than the revenues they generate. Not all revenues result in profits for the company. The main thing to understand in managerial accounting is the difference between revenues and profits. There are several different uses for the equation, but all of them deal with managerial accounting and cost management. In other words, it’s a way to calculate when a project will be profitable by equating its total revenues with its total expenses. Break-even point analysis is a measurement system that calculates the margin of safety by comparing the amount of revenues or units that must be sold to cover fixed and variable costs associated with making the sales. 12/7/2023 0 Comments Speedify crypto
12/7/2023 0 Comments Cheaper flux brace![]() It's similar to the Upright Go with the added benefit of deep breathing training. Prana is a wearable device that connects to your phone (the app is unfortunately iOS-only at the moment) and buzzes when you slouch. They're a tad cheaper, look just like activewear, and are comfortable. ★ Another alternative: Alignmed also has posture shirts for $95 that provide temporary support and are made using NeuroBand technology, which the company claims stimulates nerves to align your joints with every movement. Plus, all Kinflyte's garments are made of recycled polyester knits from post-consumer plastic bottles. Even while walking on the treadmill or doing yoga, I tend to be in a gargoyle position when I'm not paying attention.īoth brands make products that feel and look like luxurious athleisure wear, are supportive for a range of bust sizes, and come in different support levels. Neither brand is going to force you into a position, and they're less intense than the Etalon bra, but they reminded me to keep good form during a workout, which is a huge pro in my book. In these, you'll find different layers of fabric and compression panels to keep you upright. We've tried Kinflyte's bras and tops and Forme's Power Bra. If anything, they're a cut above your typical workout wear and offer more support for larger chests. It doesn't feel as intense as a brace, but it might help you a little bit. More clothing brands have started making tops and sports bras with some built-in posture correction. It might be worth it for the extended battery life and additional sensor. ★ Upgrade pick: If you don't want to charge the battery as often, the Go 2 ($60) is still a great device, and you can often find it discounted. (You can recharge it via USB-C.) Still, these have been the only devices that managed to make me think about my posture even when I'm not wearing them. The only major downside is you get two and half days of battery life instead of five. The Go S has just one sensor to detect movement instead of two, and there's no advanced movement detection, but I didn't notice any difference or error in its capabilities. The S stores your results for seven days before you'll need to sync it over Bluetooth via the companion app, whereas the Go 2 can store data for 30 days. The Go S is new and cheaper than the Go 2 I originally tested ( 8/10, WIRED Recommends), but it's just as great in nearly every way. You can also track your slouching habits without vibrations if you want to see some humbling data on just how bad your posture is. You can change the length and intensity of the vibrations within the app. Just place this little rectangle on your back, either through adhesive strips or a necklace (I highly recommend getting the necklace), calibrate it through the app, and forget about it. It's like someone tapping you on the shoulder every time you slouch. They're easy and safe and work by vibrating when you hunch over for too long. Upright Go products are the best option for correcting your posture. The best thing you can use is a device that reminds you to sit up straight, like Upright Go products, instead of forcing you to, like the other braces on this list. Subscriptions help fund the work we do every day. com and our print magazine (if you'd like). Special offer for Gear readers: Get a 1-year subscription to WIRED for $5 ($25 off). We've also updated prices and links throughout. Updated November 2023: We've added the Prana posture and deep breathing trainer. If you have severe back pain, a hump, or scoliosis, talk to your physician before trying any posture correctors. Start by using them 10 to 20 minutes a day, and add time as you go (and listen to the product's directions). None of these options will fix your problems overnight, and you shouldn't be in pain while using them. These are the best posture correctors we've tried. So I decided to do something about it, trying gadgets and gear meant to make me sit up straight. If you just adjusted your shoulders while reading this, it's time to work on your posture.Īfter seeing far too many photos of myself with a horrible slouch-my shoulders fully rounded over, my stomach somehow pushed forward while my hips are pushed back-I wonder why anyone has ever voluntarily spoken to me in public. 12/6/2023 0 Comments Swiss army knife orange peelerI suppose having a jangling set of keys makes soldiering more difficult – hard to sneak up on people. The Victorinox Pioneer was the “civilian” variant of the 1961 Soldier’s knife, but unlike some other military-to-civilian transformations (like the M16 to the AR15) the major difference between the Pioneer and the Soldier’s knife was a keyring. Here are Knife Informer’s favorite Swiss Army Knives – not a dud to be found among them, all of these models offer a variety of tools to make life easier depending on who you are and what you do. ![]() With that in mind, how can we narrow down a list of the best ones? Well, we’ll certainly try. They’re ubiquitous and excellent at what they’re designed for. ( spoiler alert.) Since the first knife in the late 19 th century, Victorinox has produced more than 500 million Swiss Army Knives. The durability and convenience of the original Soldier knife meant it was issued to the army for more than 50 years, when it was replaced by the Alox-handled 93mm Soldier – which we still know today as the Pioneer. The name of the company was derived from a combination of his mother – Victoria, who was a supporter of Karl’s work from the beginning – and Inox, the Swiss word for “stainless.” They made the first Swiss Soldier knife in 1891, which was issued to enlisted officers and soldiers as a rifle maintenance tool as well as a way to open rations – it packed a large blade, a larger straight screwdriver, an awl and a can opener. Victorinox(the maker of the Swiss Army Knife) has a long history, dating all the way back to 1884 – when Karl Elsener I opened a cutlery workshop in Ibach-Schwyz, Switzerland. And Macgyver was known for always having a Swiss Army Knife in his pocket to save the day and figure out a problem. ![]() The bad guys were locked up, the day was saved, and no blood was spilled. Why was Macgyver such a popular figure that he became part of the American social zeitgeist? People liked Macgyver because he used brains instead of violence to solve problems – he’d diffuse a bomb with a paperclip, a piece of gum, and a screwdriver. |
