12/10/2023 0 Comments Using fldigi with k3s and n1mm![]() Being 81 years old, time is a valued commadity to me and I would like to get back on the air as soon as possible. > I hope there is someone, smarter than me figured out the settings and willing to share it. ![]() > I have not been able to control the K3 to send cw or rtty. > After days of hard work, finally N1MM+ is displaying the radio's frquency. > I didn't follow my own advice and upgraded my K3 to K3s. So if you just want to use Fldigi in a stand alone operation you can use RigCAT for rig control in Fldigi. Fldigi is not automatically installed with N1MM Logger+ if you want to use it, you must download and install it. The first, Fldigi by W1HKJ, is also one of the digital engines that is supported by the Logger for digital modes. > I learned from past experience, "never to upgrade" unless you are forced to. N1MM Logger+ supports three different CW reader programs, or engines. Everything worked fine, even my SteppIr followed my K3. > I used to have a fine functional K Line station. The Logger’s user file area will usually be the file area you want to use with the first or main configuration, and is normally located in your Documents folder. Settings/configuration of the K3(s) for use with the E980297 cableĪre shown on page 19 of the K3S Owners Manual. The program files will be installed to the program files area (normally C:\Program Files\N1MM Logger+ on a 32-bit system, or C:\Program Files(x86)\N1MM Logger+ on a 64-bit system). Once Im done, I press submit, and then it forwards the contact to N1MM. Does anyone know how to interface the two Ex: I make a contact in Fldigi, and I populate the Fldigi logbook fields with the information of the QSO. Install Fldigi and when you open N1MM Logger Plus go to Config>Configure Ports>Digital Modes and tell N1MM Logger the Fldigi path. Peter, My config settings match yours, except I don’t have the pTT via Radio Command boxes checked. My group will be using N1MM for logging, and I want to use Fldigi to run digital modes. If you want, you can download and install Fldigi for CW decode. ThenĬonfigure all of your other hardware ans software *exactly* like Re: Questions about N1MM+ with an Elecraft K3s via USB K3. Use the Elecraft supplied E980297Ĭable to convert the RJ-45 jack to a DE9 (RS-232) connection. The team sometimes gets queries about why the Logger’s CW won’t work with software or interface units that feed audio tones to a transceiver. ![]() I will try mine in the RSGB Autumn Series Data on Wednesday so good luck setting yours up and a big thanks to the others for the help, it has answered a question for me as well.Treat the K3S as if it is a K3. Make sure the Hardware tab is selected (this is the tab the Configurer starts up in by default. use the Fldigi 'engine' within N1MM as opposed to plain Fldigi. Adding or pruning branches for features in the radio. Just select the IC-7851 and all the features work because Icom uses a standard command tree structure. After these preliminaries, start N1MM Logger+ and open the Configurer ( Config > Configure Ports, Audio, Mode Control, Other ). Im using my IC-7610 with HRD (latest version). It does seem a very complicated setup for something that is setup on my FT920 so simply but I guess that's technology for you. For more detailed information, check out the sections on Downloading and Installing MMTTY, 2Tone and fldigi in the manual. I had to go into mmtty settings TX and enable PTT/Fsk more than once but once things were done in the right order everything works fine. I use mmtty and Logger32 in a separate folder with EXTfsk for general logging but couldn't understand why EXTfsk was not being found in N1MM, I had put a separate mmtty in the N1MM folder but then realised that I was looking in the wrong place and hadn't put EXTfsk in the N1MM folder so that runs nicely now. I am not sure if you can set the port sharing app to start automatically but that's for a later date. Sound level from the K3S audio codec output should be adjusted to give 4-5 bars indication on the K3Ss ALC meter. FT8 & CW/Cwget are set as they were and all is hunky dory. For AFSK, the K3S should be in AFSK A mode (N1MM+ Configurer, Mode sent to Radio AFSK), and in the MMTTY setup under the Misc tab you should select Sound - the first of the three options. Followed the instructions and mine is now working beautifully on fsk rtty. Hi Pete, I set my 7300 back to default after saving configuration to sd card and renaming.
